what service looks like in Peru!
Cuy with my Companions!
Love my TRIO!!
Cannot believe it is almost AUGUST! wow!!! The months are just flying by! Here is a quick update on my week!
Service in Peru- Every Thursday morning we have time to do service for different members or people in the community! Normally we end up cleaning or painting houses, but this week our service was a lot different. When we arrived they informed us that they would need help killing their chickens to prepare for a special dinner they were going to have…. and so I had my first experience of killing a chicken!! This pic was before the killing…… hahah
Cambios!- This week was cambios. For the first time ever I was really praying to stay here in Ayacucho! I just felt like there was more that I need to do here and I love it so much! So this Saturday when we got our the call telling us cambios I was overjoyed to find out that I would be staying here in Ayacucho for another cambio!!! wooohoo! What was even better is that my companion will be training this cambio and we will be in Trio!!! WOW I am so excited to meet our new companion!!!! I truly testify that our Heavenly Father listens to our prayers and that if if be in his will, he will always answer our prayers! I truly felt a confirmation of that this cambio…. Our Heavenly Father knows us inside and out and he knows what we need before we know. When we turn our life over to him and consult him in all things, that is when we become to see his hand guiding our lives!
Andres!- This week we had the blessing of finding part of an amazing family! We recieved a reference from a member to go visit her neighbor, a 9 year old named Andres. When we arrived we also met his mother and his grandmother. As we began to teach them all we were struck by how amazing this family is! We soon came to find out that Andres’s Aunt is a member and his grandmother Elizabeth, and his mother Vanessa have been listening to missionaries for years but have never taken the steps to be baptized! As we taught them about the restoration of the gospel the spirit was so strong. I could see that things were finally clicking for them! They were asking questions, answering their own doubts, and most importantly, they were feeling the spirit of confirmation that these things are true! I was also so amazed by Andres! He is only 9 but his ability to comprehend the scriptures and learn gospel principles is amazing. I feel so blessed that I was able to find Vanessa, Elizabeth and Andres and cannot wait to teach the Father of Andres so that one day they can become an eternal family! Finding them was truly a blessing this week! It’s amazing to see how the Lord is always reaching out to his Children… after years of not having the missionaries in their house…. we were lead to their home! I have truly come to understand that the Lord shows his love to his children through us… I know becuase I can feel it! I feel this love everytime I meet someone new…. Everytime an investigator understands a principle…Eveytime I get to testify of God’s love for them! It’s amazing!!! I just LOVE it!
Ayacucho is amazing! We are teching amazing people that truly have desires to follow Jesus Christ! The members here are wonderful, and my companions are the best!! I feel so blessed to be here in this time!!

Me and My Companion!!
my zone at the zoo!!
Wow! This week has been crazy! Lots of changes!!! Here is the rundown of the week!
TRIO!- One of the hermanas in my zone had to go home for health so now we are in a trio and are working in two areas!!! It is a bit crazy but my companions are the best! My new companion is hermana Turley from Arizona! She is awesome and It has been the best working with her and Hermana Trejo this week!! It’s been so crazy working with members and doing divisions so that we can work in both Garcilazo and Mariscal!
Tender Mercies!- This week was a little rough in terms of my health. There ended up being 2 days that I couldn’t go out and work because of my bad health! It was so rough having to stay in while we had plans to visit investigators and visit members! But like always after the trial comes the blessing, and this week was no different! After resting for 2 days I went to go work in the area of Hermana Turley and met her Investigator Susan! As we were finishing up the lessons for Susan’s baptism this past Saturday we began talking about Temples! As I began to explain baptisms for the dead and the power to create eternal families… I turned to look at Susan. I could tell she was a bit confused… She then told us that she had never known that this was possible. She had never known that her mother could be baptized and one day enter into the kingdom of heaven! She quickly asked us if and when she could be baptized for her mother who had passed away, and if she could one day see her mother again! It gave me such happiness to be able to respond to her questions with a resounding YES! Now, susan has a goal to go to the temple in August and do the temple work for her own mother, and her other family members who have passed away! Temples are truly amazing! The spirit that I felt in this moment was amazing! It was such a reminder to me that the Lord has a plan for each of us! And how amazing is it, that as a missionary I get to share this happiness every day! After days of not being able to work,I was reminded me what it means to be a missionary and how blessed I am to be here in peru at this time! I love this work!
The blessings continued as this past Saturday Susan was baptized! Even though I wasn’t there during all the lessons…. I came to feel a great love for susan in this short week! I felt so blessed to be able to be with her during this important event in her life and help her take the steps towards the eternal blessings that await each of us!
I know that this work is important and I feel so blessed to be here serving the people of Ayacucho!!!
Love you all!
Looks like everything is going well!!! The teaching is going well!! I’m feeling wayyy better there were some days that I couldn’t go out and work and that was hard… but my blood tests came back good and I am feeling a lot better!!! I love seeing the photos of everyone! and I feel so blessed to have you as my mother!!!!
Love you so much and feel so blessed to be here at this time!!!

Wow! The weeks are flying by! Here is a rundown of the week!….
Concilio!- This week we had our meeting in Lima! We had to travel the 10 hours there and back for the 4 hour meeting! This trip is brutal! But I was so exhausted I practically slept the whole time! The meeting was wonderful! It was really great to get to know the new president even more and to see how the mission is moving forward through revelation! After the meeting all those that traveled from Ayacucho have the chance to go to the temple! However, I had a doctors appointment so the sec. of Health, told me that my comp and I wouldn’t be able to go to the temple! I was crushed! I wanted to go to the temple so badly! In this moment I decided that we were going to go to the temple. end of story. As we got to the clinic I said a quick prayer that the doctor would be able to see me earlier than expected… as I finished the prayer, they called my name! I finished my appointment faster than expected and arrived at the temple 10 min before the session started! They let us in, we changed super fast, and we had a beautiful night in the temple! It was truly a tender mercy. I know that the Lord is so mindful of us and truly answers our prayers… even if our desires are a bit unrealistic!
Felicita y Vidal!- Wow! This week we saw miracles, after making calls all Sunday morning before church… we were a little bit discouraged as our investigators weren’t answering, and those that did, told us that they wouldn’t be able to make it to church! My companion and I were just praying that one of our investigators would be able to come…. As they were getting ready to start sacrament meeting… Felicita,Vidal, and their son Moses arrived! Wow! After putting the first goal for their marriage we had experienced lots of difficulties and their marriage date had fallen…. But as they sat together in Sacrament meeting, As the spirit touched their hearts, they completely changed. They truly felt the need to change their lives, so that they could one day experience the joy that comes through this gospel! They accepted a new marriage and baptism date, and expressed their gratitude for our help in making this goal.
It’s moments like these that make realize how wonderful my calling is! I get to witness the difficulties, hardships, but also the changes and the pure joy that can only come through Jesus Christ! I feel so blessed to be here in Ayacucho at this time, doing the work of the Lord!
Love you all!

This week!!! Wow this week was crazy! Here is a quick update!
Problems with Water- Wow! This week there was SO MUCH RAIN! The streets became rivers and my companion and I were drenched from head to foot! It just so happened that the day with the most rain was one of those days were you spend all day walking because all of our appointments fell through! When we got home…. gross and cold from all the rain we discovered that there was no water!!!! To make matters worse, when we woke up the following morning… still no water and we had a zone conference to meet our new president! We had to run to the apartment of the other hermanas and barely made it in time! It was crazy! Here in Ayacucho the water and electricity are a little iffy and so not having water is more or less normal! haha
Fun Foods- My companion is the best! She makes an amazing piña colada and is always frying up bananas and tons of delish things for me! However, she absolutely loves everything that you can eat inside of a chicken or cow… so in these last 3 weeks with her I have eaten Chicken bladder, Cow lung, and some other interesting things…. hahah here in Peru they eat EVERYTHING.
President!!- Well, it finally happened! President Douglas finished his mission and President McGinn arrived!President McGinn is from Canada and is wonderful! I have to admit, it was hard saying goodbye to such an incredible President, But I am excited for the new things I will learn from President and Hermana McGinn!
Tender Mercies! – This week was a bit rough for my companion and I! We were having a hard time finding people to teach and our investigators weren’t progressing like they had been in the past! But as they always say, the miracles come after the trial of our faith! As we were finishing up the week Sunday night, our last appointment fell through. With only 30 min left before our curfew, it came to my mind to look at a list of less actives that lived in the same neigborhood. As I looked at the list, I saw the name of a family and decided we should contact them… after knocking 2 wrong doors, we finally found the house! They invited us in and expressed to us how blessed they felt to have us in their home! We ended up finding out that they have children that have not been baptized, and have never been to church. They expressed to us their desire to have their family together forever! My companion and I left blessed to have found them and to have shared such a special moment with this family!
I love this work and I testify that the Lord is mindful of each of us! We are His children, and he Loves us!
love you all so much!
